I never use Limewire before, that’s why I want to try. My google search hit this website. It’s interesteing, isn’t it?. I don’t want to download from ddl, because I have no account there, so I download from LimeWire Official Website.

Check Out Your COMPUTER, NEW THREAD RANSOM-F is Spreading

I got 2 virus warning in my box lately, but the most interesting one is RANSOM-F. This is new virus reported on March 25, 2009. It’s name varied :

  • Trojan.Xrupter [Symantec]
  • Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Fixer.a [Kaspersky Lab
  • Trojan:Win32/Fakecorr [Microsoft]

Behaviour

You got this virus if :

When you open your documents (almost all document type), you got a message telling that your document is corrupt. If you click Repair File, the virus then download some File calls Filefix Professional 2009.

$250,000 for Conflicker Maker?

virusOn February 12, 2009, Microsoft announced a U.S. $250,000 reward for information that results in the arrest and conviction of those responsible for illegally launching the Conficker malicious code on the Internet. Microsoft’s reward offer stems from the company’s recognition that the Conficker worm is a criminal attack. Microsoft wants to help the authorities catch the criminals responsible for it. USB vaccine, preventing your autorun.inf to be modified

Do you know that almost all the virus infection began from USB flash disk?. Yes, new virus model now progressively use this feature. This is of course very effective, because everytime the flash disk connected to the computer, virus program work automatically.

To prevent this risk, you can use Panda USB Vaccine. It is a free utility from Panda Security Research which helps prevent malware infections due to the autorun feature of Windows Operating Systems. Once executed the user can choose two types of vaccinations: Computer Vaccination or USB Drive Vaccination. USB Vaccine allows users to vaccinate their PCs in order to disable autorun completely so that no program from any USB/CD/DVD drive (regardless of whether they have been previously vaccinated or not) can auto-execute. This is a really helpful feature as there is no user friendly and easy way of completely disabling autorun on a Windows PC. Panda USB Vaccine can be used on individual USB drives to disable its autorun.inf file in order to prevent malware infections from spreading automatically. Read the rest of this entry »
